I hope all the mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day!
We have the math portion of the Forward Exam on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30-9:30.
When I graded the Spelling Inventories that I gave last week, I was really pleased with the student's growth. The color of your child's spelling words may or may not have changed, depending on how they did on the inventories. This week's high frequency words are: usually, money, seen, car, morning.
We are finishing our review of personal narratives and we will be doing our On-Demand writing this week.
In literacy, we are continuing to work on Social Issues. I am also continuing to test students on their reading level.
In math, we are continuing to work on fractions. We are locating fractions on a number line, comparing fractions, and making equivalent fractions.
In science, we are learning about rocks and the rock cycle. The three main rock types are igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary.
Wednesday is Walk to School Wednesday.
Thursday will be our last day to check out books this school year. Please make sure library books are returned next week.
Friday is our field trip. Remember to have your child dress for the weather. We will be outside for most of the day.
